Communicating with Nature: How signaling molecules can help drive your yields

On-demand

Did you know that plants communicate with the rest of the natural world? It’s true. At Novozymes we’ve identified signaling molecules released from soil microbes that tell plants they’re close by and ready for beneficial interactions. In this webinar you’ll learn about lipo-chitooligosaccharides (LCO), the forms it takes and the many benefits it has to with both broad acre and specialty crops. Our scientists and agronomists will walk participants through the complex soil ecosystems that produce these signaling molecules, the elite molecule types we work with, and the appropriate methods of applications, from seed treatment to in furrow and everything in between. They’ll dive into specific modes of actions and the corresponding plant enhancement features our LCO solutions provide. They’ll share compatibility, safety and best handling practices for these robust signaling molecules. Join us to learn more about how, at Novozymes, we’re harnessing nature’s problem solvers to communicate with plants with our LCO signaling molecules for healthier plants and higher yields.

Adam Kayser

Regional Technical Sales Support Agronomist in the United States, Novozymes

Adam has worked in the Agricultural Microbial space for over 15 years. His time in product development and agronomy research began at Novozymes on to Monsanto (with the BioAg Alliance) and then Bayer acquisition. His experiences include the establishment and management of contract research trials as well as commercial agronomy support on: Corn, Soybeans, Wheat, Peas, Lentils, Chickpeas, Alfalfa, Peanut, Cotton, Canola, Sorghum, Sunflower and Sugar Beets. He rejoined Novozymes this past fall as the Regional Technical Sales Support Agronomist in the United States. Adam and his wife reside in southern Minnesota with their 3 children.

Jon Treloar

lead for Novozymes BioAg's North American Commercial Team, Novozymes

Jon Treloar is the Technical Sales Support lead for Novozymes BioAg's North American Commercial Team. With expertise in field trials, agronomy, soil health and sustainable agriculture, he has a passion for the use and adoption of biologicals in agriculture. He holds a B.Sc. in Agroecology from The University of British Columbia and a M.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan. Jon has been instrumental in the development and promotion of new biological solutions for growers. Jon resides in Saskatoon as he has a fondness of bitter cold coupled with a fear of mountains.

Michael Barnhart

Senior Scientist with BioAg Applicatoin Development, Novozymes

Michael Barnhart is a Senior Scientist with BioAg Applicatoin Development in Durham, NC. He received his Ph.D in microbiology studying molecular interactions between bacterial pathogens and plants. He’s taken these studies into product development and utilization at Novozymes to provide farmers with biological tools to assist in their crop management.
